Austin Doll Collectors Show and sale - Oct. 2, 2008
I went to a doll show this weekend. After the buying feast at the BJDC 2008, a regular doll show is a tame affair. Evelyn's Treasure Dolls is now carrying a few lines of BJDs. Let the temptation start!!! She had a few with her at the show.

I did surprise myself at what I did buy. Way back when I made my own porcelain dolls - I wanted to make an ethnic tan colored Jumeau gypsy. Never got around to it. I found this cutie - a reproduction one and just had to have her.

She's wonderful; I love her! Who painted her, do you know? I also intended to make a gypsy doll back when I was making porcelain dolls and never did it, lol. I did make a very dark Bru, though. She's dressed in a silk Mardi Gras party dress and is one of the few of the many I made that I still have. Just goes to show how insidious abj dolls are; I can't think of even one porcelain doll I've made since I started buying them and I've sold all my best (well, most expensive, anyway) antique dolls to buy them. I have kept my small, inexpensive antique dolls though; they were my favorites anyway.

hmmm... would love to see the ones you still have in your collection ..hint hint :)

did you go to the doll show? I did not see many ABJD people there - guess everyone is still Broke from convention!
